A few weeks ago, I went to visit grandma and ended up at her kitchen table where we probably chatted for an hour. We caught up on our lives and the events of the past few months. We talked about the changes in our extended and immediate family. Grandma talked a bit a about her life and shared a few of the lessons she's learned. I thought back on all the things I've learned at grandma's kitchen table.We've spent hours talking, eating, playing games, canning fruit, wrapping caramels, frosting cookies, and reading scriptures. She's shared stories and and insight from her life and listened as I've shared problems and concerns. We've laughed together and cried together. We've worked and played. We've expressed our weaknesses and resolve to change - to be better disciples of Christ and more loving family members. I love that even at 79 years old, grandma still identifies and set goals for change and improvement.As we finished our conversation, we got up from the table and started cleaning the house; also a usual task.
